Project Aims
The eLean Project aimed to develop a web based training programme to transfer the knowledge and competences required to develop and implement sustainable business improvement strategies and techniques, based on Lean Thinking and Six Sigma. It is targeted at small and medium (SME) sized manufacturing companies in Wales.
As a pilot project, it will focus on testing the effectiveness of the web in knowledge transfer, assessing its role as part of a 'blended' learning appraoch. It will also recommend options for a roll out of the programme and the factors required to make it a sustainable proposition. |
| More specifically, the project aims to: |
Recruit SME manufacturing companies in Objective 1 & 3 areas in Wales and train employees in each in a number of Buisness Improvement Technique topics. |
Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the training in effective knowledge and skills transfer to employees |
Make recommendation for the future roll out of the initiative, taking into account the needs of businesses and the requirement for the sustainability of the service. |
The project started in 2005 and will concluded during the second half of 2007
